Our Collaborative Programs & Initiatives

🌱 Plant-Forward Community Gardens

Working together to establish and maintain community gardens focused on diverse plant-based foods that supply fresh produce for PBFS distribution programs. These gardens serve as educational spaces where community members learn to grow nutrient-dense vegetables, herbs, and fruits while understanding the environmental benefits of plant-based eating.

🌿 Wild Edibles & Foraging Education

Goreala's foraging expertise expands PBFS's plant-based offerings by teaching community members to identify and safely harvest wild edibles. These workshops introduce participants to abundant local plant foods while connecting them to traditional ecological knowledge and seasonal eating practices that support both personal health and ecosystem wellness.

🧑🏿‍🤝‍🧑🏻 Youth Plant-Based Leadership Programs

Our joint youth initiatives combine PBFS's nutrition education with Goreala's ecological training to create comprehensive learning experiences. Young people gain hands-on experience in sustainable plant cultivation, wild food harvesting, and community food distribution while developing leadership skills in food justice and environmental stewardship.

🍲 Community Food Hub Development

Together, we're developing a plant-based community food hub that processes and distributes locally-grown produce, including crops from our partnership gardens and ethically foraged wild foods. This initiative creates local jobs while ensuring fresh, plant-based nutrition reaches those who need it most, supporting both community health and environmental sustainability.
